Tammie Jolene Helton was born July 4th, 1975 in Cheyenne Oklahoma to Connie Jolene (Miller) Sasser and Lindy Lucian Sasser Sr. She Passed away Saturday, September 25th, 2021 in Oklahoma City at the age of 46 years, 2 months and 21 days.
Tammie confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and was later baptized on June 30, 1985.
Tammie grew up on the Miller Family Farm North of Reydon, Oklahoma. For 18 years she worked hard helping on the farm; driving equipment, working cattle, and building fences (Where her primary job was untangling and handing fence clips to her daddy). Tammie also worked waiting tables at a local diner during her high school and in her early twenties. While attending high school Tammie played basketball on a very competitive team. In 1992, Tammie was blessed to become the mother of Michael Lane Hall. Tammie graduated from Reydon High School in 1993. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. During this same period, Tammie and Albert Wade Helton were married in Wheeler, Texas on November 1, 1996.
Tammie and Wade made their home in Laketon, TX with their sons Lane Hall and Loagon Helton. The entire family traveled throughout Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico allowing the boys to compete extensively in rodeos. During this busy family time, Tammie also commuted to Weatherford, Oklahoma finishing her bachelor of education degree in 2000.
Tammie taught at Miami, Texas for 3 years, then acquired a teaching position at Pampa Middle School where she continued inspiring students for 7 more years, even earning Teacher of the Year. In 2011, she left her education career to become a successful entrepreneur but she always missed her students, She built a thriving traveling women's clothing boutique fondly called “The Trendy Trailer.” Tammie spent the last decade of her life passionately growing her business. During this time she built a large customer base serving the North Texas and Western Oklahoma communities. Tammie developed lasting friendships with many of her customers.
Tammie loved to cook and bake so she could share with others. She loved surprising friends with care packages of home baked goodies. If Tammy was coming to visit, you could guarantee you were going to be well fed. Living her life like the Apostle Paul who said; He worked so that he would have something to share with others.
She was preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents and one nephew, Jimmy Todd McCoy Jr..
Tammie is survived by her husband, Wade and son Loagon Helton of the Home; son Michael Lane Hall of Childress, TX; Grandson Michael Rider Hall; Her parents Lindy and Connie Sasser of Reydon Ok.; parents-in-law Pat and Alberta Helton of Allison, TX; Three sisters: Kathyrn McCoy and husband Todd of Abilene, TX; Brenda Mason and husband Chad of Burns Flat, OK and Renea Hancock and husband, James of Reydon OK; a brother, Lindy Sasser Jr. and wife, Cathy of Norman, OK and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Reydon Gymnasium officiated by Dr. Alberta Helton. Burial will immediately follow at White Rose Cemetery in Reydon. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
