Tammy Minyard Henthorn

Tammy Minyard Henthorn, 57, of Pampa, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Pampa.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 23, 2018 at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Tammy was born February 25, 1961 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to JB and Maud Minyard. She was a 1980 graduate of Pampa High School. Tammy married Dean Henthorn on October 17, 1981 in Pampa. She had been a member of Central Baptist Church her entire life, and worked there for 23 years. She loved children and served her Lord as a Children’s Sunday school teacher.

Tammy was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren very much. She was a very caring person to all. She was well known for her relaxing massage touch. Tammy was involved with school swim team for 20 years and all of the junior and senior high school swimmers knew her lovingly as their Coach T.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and two brothers-in-law, Randy Suttle and Jon Bender.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Henthorn of the home; a son, Anson Henthorn and wife Leandra of Canyon; two daughters, Tamra Turner and husband Greg of Wasilla, Alaska, and Angela Detten and husband Dustin of Coppell; her dad, JB Minyard of Pampa; three sisters, Christine Griffin, Joyce Bender, and Louan Suttle, all of Pampa; a twin brother, Jimmy Minyard and wife Gina of Pampa; four grandchildren, Daphne Aguilar, Kylie and Conner Detten, and Samuel Henthorn; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Tammy’s honor be made to Central Baptist Church, 513 E. Francis, Pampa, Texas 79065.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:30 PM Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
