Tanya Gay Ward

November 21, 1950 — January 23, 2023

Pampa

Tanya Gay (Brown) Ward, 72, of Pampa, went to be in the hands of Jesus on January 23, 2023, in Pampa, Texas.

Celebration of Life memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock of Briarwood Church, officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Tanya was born on November 21, 1950, in Crosbyton, Texas.  As a young girl her family moved to Pampa where she grew up, attended, and graduated Pampa High School from the class of ’68. Shortly after graduating, she entered the Dental field. Tanya wore many hats in this industry; a career in which she made many relationships and that extended over many years.  Her favorite saying to all was “only floss the teeth you want to keep.”

Years later Tanya would become reacquainted with a high school classmate, Mike Ward, and they would later marry on July 4, 1992. Within this marriage they shared many great years together and blended two wonderful families. Tanya found enjoyment with cooking, fishing, and art. Undoubtedly, her family was the most important thing in her life, especially all her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Maxine Jeffers; sister Anita Taylor; and nephew Blake Olsen.

Her survivors include her husband, Mike Ward of the home; five children, Kimberly Storey and husband Mark of Winston, Ga, Mark Oler and wife Barbara of Lake Jackson, TX, Jennifer Whiddon of Dallas, TX, Leslie Haynes and husband Seth of Pampa, TX, and Kyle Ward and wife Calli of Amarillo, TX;15 grandchildren, Alyssa, Tate, Kamryn, Katie, Cameron, Chase, Chance, Cale, Lexi, Emily, Nate, Elli, Patch, Griffin, and Fletcher; one great-grandchild, Rylan; a sister, Linda Olsen of Houston, TX; and many other loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
