Thomas Paul Stark, Jr, passed away on February 28, 2025, two days after his 73rd birthday.
Services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor at First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Ochiltree Cemetery in Perryton under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Tom, as he was known to all, was born in Elk City, Oklahoma and spent his childhood in Oklahoma City and Perryton, Texas. He always worked odd jobs like a paper route and mowing lawns despite a congenital heart condition that prevented his participation in sporting activities. He became an expert marksman and enjoyed bowling. He put himself through college, completing an associate’s degree at Frank Phillips College in Borger, Texas before transferring to Angelo State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s in education in 1975. He drove a school bus throughout his college years.
Tom was employed by the National Supply division of Armco for many years, relocating several times to manage stores throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Tom enjoyed his work in the oilfield service industry and finished his career at WB Supply of Pampa, Texas, and he remained in Pampa until his death.
Tom is predeceased by his parents, Thelma and Tom Stark of Perryton, Texas.
He is survived by his sisters, Margaret Pace (David), of San Antonio, Dr. Virginia Stark Vance of Ft. Worth, and Donna Reynolds (Travis) of Pampa. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Ted Stark, Denise Reynolds, Joy Stark Smith, (Kyle) Laura Durrett, (Ryan) and Andrew Aslakson (Jenny).
He is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews.
Tom enjoyed his association with the Pampa Senior Center where he often had lunch with the friends and staff he met there. Memorials in Tom's memory can be made to the Pampa Senior Citizen Center, 500 W. Francis, Pampa, Texas, 79065.
