Tim D. Quarles, 64 years of age, passed away September 21, 2024 in Cookson, Oklahoma.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Kris Humphrey, pastor at Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Tim was born on September 4, 1960 in Pampa, where he grew up as a Pampa Harvester. He played baseball throughout his school years and graduated from Pampa High School in 1979. Tim went straight into the workforce, where he invested many years and became a Class Three Operator. In Tim's younger adult years, he spent his time working and raising his two children, Garret and Ashley, in Katy, Texas. After returning to Pampa, he married his childhood friend, DeAnna Finney. They became inseparable and one another’s best friend.
Tim and his wife DeAnna loved to travel. They made a point to visit all four corners of the United States. Maine and Victoria Island were their favorite destinations. They visited many beautiful places and made the best memories together; life became an adventure. Tim and DeAnna would load up in their Can-Am, and spontaneously take trips, never knowing where they will end up.
Tim’s favorite past time was fishing, even as a young boy, he loved fishing with his father and little brother, Eric. As an adult, he fished abroad in Brazil, Mexico, and any lake he could wet a hook in. Tim was always at peace out on the water. For 44 years, he had a yearly canoe trip on the Illinois River with his brother Eric and his childhood best friends, Lane, Steve, and Charlie, his son Garret, and many other great men. The trip was like a family reunion that he always looked forward to.
Tim always had a great work ethic. After many years of hard work, he was proud to retire and buy a lake house on Lake Tenkiller in 2020, a goal that he had always dreamed of accomplishing. When Tim wasn't fishing, he was finding ways to make his and DeAnna's home their little slice of heaven. Whether it be building new structures on their property, like her dream chicken coop, or planting trees; he was always making their life together more beautiful. He was especially proud of the flower beds he made and filled for her. He and DeAnna had built a beautiful life in the 18 years they had together. Tim was loved immensely, and his smile and sarcasm will be greatly missed.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Quarles; his mother, Diana Quarles; and his stepmother, LoEtta Quarles.
Tim is survived by his wife, DeAnna Quarles of Cookson, Oklahoma; his brother, Eric Quarles and wife Jonita of Cookson, Oklahoma; his son, Garrett Quarles and wife Kaci Quarles of Salado, Texas; his daughter, Ashley Turner and husband Casey of Hampton, Arkansas; three stepchildren, Mark Lamar and wife Robin, Adam Kent and wife Jennifer, and John Burns and wife Jessica; and every single grandchild that Tim doted on, Stockton Quarles, Finley Quarles, Rylan Turner, Chloey Turner, Kellen Lamar, Aubrey Lamar, Kaybree Lamar, Noah Kent, Henley Kent, Luke Burns, and Georgia Burns; and his three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Roselyn, and Knox.
