Tom Clark, 89, of Pampa, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 in Amarillo.
A private family service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Tom was born on July 14, 1935 in Hays, Kansas to Floyd and Mary Brainerd Clark. He graduated from Palco High School in 1953. Tom enlisted in the United States Army in 1954. He married Bonnie Bryan on July 16, 1955 in Waldo, Kansas. They were married until Bonnie’s passing in 1982. Tom served in the military until 1966 when he was honorably discharged. In 1986, Tom moved to Pampa. He worked as a corrections officer in the Jordan Unit until his retirement. Tom fell in love again after meeting Melissa Wilson and the two were married on February 18, 2006. She passed away just the day before he did.
Tom enjoyed fishing, hand tool leather work, and going bowling. He was very ornery and loved giving his favorite people a hard time. Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mary Clark; his first wife, Bonnie Clark; his second wife, Melissa Clark; one son, Donald L. Clark; one sister, Anita Mahr; and one stepson, Barry “BJ” Wilson.
He is survived by his four children, Corinne Bach, Steve Clark, Penni Granat, and Pam Johnson; two stepsons, Zach Wilson and Joey Wilson; one sister, Karen Hunter; nine grandchildren, Renee Beasley, Joseph Willingham, Sean Willingham, Larry Clark, Daniel Clark, Cody Ponder, Bryan Ponder, Brodi Brown, and Jamie-Lynn Farmer; two step-grandchildren, Breanna Moss and Samantha Presley; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
