Tom M. O'Loughlin

Tom M. O’Loughlin, 84 of Miami, passed away December 15, 2018 in Amarillo.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Rusty Ratliff, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mr. O’Loughlin was born April 26, 1934 in Atchison, Kansas. He was a great grandson of Tom O’Loughlin who settled near Mobeetie in 1875. He graduated from Price College in Amarillo in 1952 and received a Bachelor of Animal Science degree in 1956 from OSU. In 1958, Tom began running the O’Loughlin Ranch with his mother and sister.

Tom married Beverly Warnock on June 25, 1966 in Jeffersonville, Ohio, and they enjoyed square dancing together. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2018. He served two terms as the Mayor of Miami in the 1980’s. He was a member of the Miami Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, and a supporter of helping children in need. He loved gardening and all types of flowers. He enjoyed listening to Bob Wills and going to bluegrass festivals.

Survivors include his two sons, Michael O’Loughlin and wife Kathy of Amarillo, and Mathew O’Loughlin of Miami; a sister, Sarah Daley of Niceville, Florida; two grandchildren, Hallie O’Loughlin and Bradley O’Loughlin, both of Pampa; two great grandchildren, Easton Reece O’Loughlin of Pampa, and Braylon O’Loughlin of Dallas. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary O’Loughlin.
