Tommy J. Bird, 72, of Breckenridge, died September 10, 2017 in Breckenridge. Memorial graveside services will be10:00 AM Monday, September 18, 2017, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Richard Bartel, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Director of Pampa. Mr. Bird was born June 25, 1945 in Paducah. He had been a resident of Breckenridge for 22 years. He owned and operated Iron Horse Drywall, retiring in 1997. Tommy married Donnie Moseley on July 8, 1996 in Breckenridge. He was a published poet, “Sadness of a Broken Heart.” He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Famous Poets Society. Tommy was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Kay Sanders and Judy Lee Johnson. Survivors include his wife Donnie of the home; his mother, Betty Jo Buckingham of Denton; step daughter, Tammy Aker of Breckenridge; four step grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren; step parents, Jack and Joyce Seals of Pampa; and nieces and nephews, Justin Johnson of Houston, Jason Johnson of Denton, and Julie Harvicke of Edmond, Oklahoma.
