Travis Taylor

Travis Taylor, 85, of Pampa went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 8, 2021 in Pampa.

Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

Travis was born January 10, 1936 at the Worley Hospital in Pampa to Albert and Lula Taylor. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1954 and went on to attend West Texas State University. Travis married the love of his life, Judy Ellis on February 27, 1960 in Pampa. He retired from Celanese in 1998 after working 39 years. Travis loved the Lord and ministered to so many, he was a member of First Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was an avid sports fan loving his Pampa Harvesters, Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. He had a love for golf, he enjoyed playing in his weekly golf group at Hidden Hills where he was a member of the Hidden Hills Senior Golf Association. He was loved and admired by all and will be missed dearly.

Travis is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Doris Johnston and Wanda Barbee.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Judy Taylor of the home; 2 daughters, Holly McNamara and husband Lane of Plano and Leanne Hale and husband Emil of Fredericksburg; a sister, Vickie Willis of Roanoke, Virginia; he was known as "Paw Paw" to his 6 grandchildren, Abby McNamara of Dallas, Dylan McNamara, and Grace McNamara both of Plano, Dr. Simon Hale and wife Erika of Houston, Elliot Hale of Dallas, and Tucker Hale of Fredericksburg.
