Tresa Darlene Taylor- Miller, 69, of Pampa, passed away, October 29, 2020 at her home with her loving family beside her.
Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 AM, Monday, November 2, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Kevin Howell, officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael- Whatley Funeral Directors. Tresa’s funeral will be livestreamed at www.carmichael-whatley.com/page/live-streaming.
Tresa was born on May 5, 1951 in Friona to MaeDell and Clayton Taylor. She shared time and attended school in both Dumas and Friona and graduated from Friona High School. After high school, she met the love of her life, Ellis “Pops” Miller and they later married on November 29, 1969 in Plainview. After their marriage, they resided in Wolfforth where Ellis was the AG teacher from 1976-1979. They later made their way to Miami where Ellis became the AG teacher for over 21 years. Tresa worked as a beautician during all their moves, a career that spanned from 1969-1992. They eventually would move to Pampa where Tresa and Ellis became owners of Miller’s Insurance Agency from 1997 to 2013, where she loved being an insurance agent. Tresa and Ellis had several good years and memories before he preceded her in death on April 9, 2020.
When she wasn’t working, she loved the holidays, where she enjoyed making candy and being “Mrs. Claus” whenever Ellis was helping be Santa. The most important thing to Tresa was her family and she was a very supportive mother and Nana, and she was always there to support all of her grandchildren’s events.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ellis; a sister, Silvia Taylor; and by a nephew, Jeremy Taylor.
Her survivors include her daughter, Trishelle Miller of the home ; a son, Jason Miller and wife Barbara of Dalhart; 3 Grandsons, K.C. Miller of Stratford, Tyler Miller of Lubbock, and Jaylan Miller of Dalhart; 4 brothers, Joey Taylor and Jeff Pinkerton of Santa Fe, N.M., Kirk Taylor and wife Dianne of Petersburg, Brent Taylor and Kem of Lubbock, and Trent Taylor and wife Jamie of White Deer; a brother-in-law, Junebug Miller and wife Penny of Ransom Canyon; a sister-in-law, Mary Mag Henderson and husband Mark of Big Lake; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
