Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Truman was born on December 19, 1925 in Munday to Alice and John Lowrance. He grew up and attended school in Munday until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Truman would enter into World War II in 1941 and then would be honorably discharged in 1945. After serving in the war he would eventually make his home in Pampa. Later he would meet the love of his life, Ruby Lee Bradford, and they wed on November 24, 1946. They would enjoy almost 48 years of marriage before she preceded him in death in February of 1994. Truman started his career for Cabot in 1947, working there until he retired in 1988. In late 1959, Truman began volunteering for the Pampa Youth Optimist Club where he proudly took part in all capacities of the club. He helped build and rebuild the ball parks, coached softball, baseball, basketball, and helped in any way he could. Mr. Lowrance served on the board, holding Vice-President and President offices, and was given many awards from the club. He also helped with Boy Scouts for many years. If there was a way to help children, Truman wanted to be there, and he was truly a friend of youth. He enjoyed watching sports and fishing. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, and he will be greatly missed by all. Truman was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his three grandsons, Kelly Lowrance of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Jeremy Roberts of Seligman, Missouri, and Truman Courtney Lowrance and wife Crystal of Canyon; a granddaughter, Janella Lowrance of Pampa; his brother, Homer Lowrance of Houston; his sister, Jeanene Redder of Munday; eight great-grandsons, Christian Hinkle of Denton, Eaan Lowrance of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Travis Hinkle of Canyon, Rusty Lowrance of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Clayton Hall of Pampa, Peyton Luther and Truman Riley Lowrance, and Grayson Lowrance, all of Canyon; and two great-granddaughters, Micaela Cullender of Canyon and Kaitlyn Roberts of Seligman, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Pampa Youth Optimist Club, PO Box 802, Pampa, Texas 79066-0802.
