Blanchard, Oklahoma

Vickie Marlow, 70, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, formerly of Miami, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at her home.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Michael Sturgell, pastor at New Beginnings Church in Blanchard, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the funeral home. 

Vickie was born on April 30, 1954 in Pampa to Troy Elton Hopkins and Velva Grace McCuistion Hopkins. She grew up going to school in Miami and was a graduate of Miami High School in 1972. After graduating, Vickie attended college at McMurry University, Tulsa University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she earned her BA in chemistry. She then went to work for Phillips 66 in Borger and later Tyson Foods in Amarillo. Vickie would later find her true passion in the animal health and pharmaceutical industry, a career she was devoted to until her retirement.

While working at Tyson Foods, Vickie met the love of her life, Jeff Marlow. The two were married on February 11, 1983 in Taos, New Mexico. Vickie was a faithful member of the New Beginnings Church in Blanchard where she enjoyed studying about and worshiping the Lord. She had a strong faith and loved her God with all of heart. Vickie also enjoyed playing the piano, especially the old hymns. Vickie cared deeply about people and animals. She was an animal lover to her core. Vickie will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Velva Hopkins.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Jeff Marlow of the home; two sisters, Debbie Brown and husband David of Pampa and Charlotte Turowski and husband Steve of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one stepdaughter, Brenda Jean Leeson; three nephews, Brett Turowski, Matt Turowski, and Adam Brown; one niece, Amanda Harrison; and other extended family members.
