Virginia Rae Grayson, 83, of Pampa, passed away with her family by her side on May 2, 2018 in Pampa. Celebration of Life memorial graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery with Brother Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church of Pampa, officiating. Services and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Virginia was born February 22, 1935 in Rising Star to Mary and Albert Jones. As a young girl her family moved to Pampa where she attended school and graduated from Pampa High School. She attended Southwestern Medical School from 1956-1961 and worked as a medical administrator for the Laycock Clinic for 35 years, retiring in 1995. Virginia met the love of her life, Buster Grayson and they wed on December 19, 1969 in Borger. They enjoyed almost 49 years of marriage. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, and was a member of the Pampa Optimist Club. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; by a brother, Albert H. Jones, by a sister, Mary Frances Guinn; and by a special uncle, Robert Pinkston. Survivors include her loving husband, Buster Grayson of the home; by her son Scott Powell of Kirkland, Washington; by her stepson, Scott E. Grayson of Atlanta, Georgia; by her sisters-in-law, Linda Jones and husband Larry of Point, Joyce Guenther of Mesquite; Nelda Armstrong of Emory; and Otha Grayson of Oakwood.
