Wanda Louise George

Wanda Louise George, 90, of Pampa passed away peacefully at her home on November 3, 2021.

Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. The funeral service will be livestreamed on the funeral home website.

Wanda was born January 4, 1931 in Rotan, Texas to Willie and Cleatie Gruben. She graduated from Rotan High School in 1949. Soon after graduation, she married Callens George on July 31, 1949 in Rotan. He passed away on November 6, 2013. Wanda was a stay-at-home mom for many years raising her children. In 1968 until 1971 she worked for Pied Piper Farms in Hamlin. In 1972, her and Callens made their home in Pampa. For several years they owned and operated C. George Trucking. She enjoyed sewing, ironing, and canning. Wanda was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Family was very important to her; she traveled many miles follow all of her children's ball games and events. Wanda was known as Ma to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by parents, sister, Winnie Rodgers.

Survivors include her six children, Randy George and wife Bobbie of Louisburg, North Carolina, Christy Wyant and husband Raymond of Pampa, Janis Harrison of Amarillo, Phil George and wife Donna of Norman, Oklahoma, Kevin George and wife Jennifer of Ovid, Colorado, and Trecia Mitchell and husband Chuck of White Deer; brother, Kenneth Gruben and wife Sandra of Hamlin; sister, Margaret Watkins and husband George of Mena, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Courtney, Barbie, Cali, Cami, Cati, Crystal, Cody, Tanner, Kaycia, Kaylene, Callen; 16 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Callens, Wyatt, Jaric, Raleah, Cooper, Kylie, Braylon, Caiden, Cade, Brentley, Caiden, Kyle, Reagan, Saydee and Cambriee.
