Wanda Jo Waldrip, 87, of Pampa, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Wanda was born February 11, 1937 in Lynn County, Texas to Murrll and Eunice Sales. She attended schools in Dora, New Mexico. At an early age, Wanda married the love of her life, Dennis Kay “Mike” Waldrip in Clovis, New Mexico. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before he passed away on January 25, 2022. Wanda and Mike lived in several communities which included Hereford, Amarillo, and eventually Pampa. While in Hereford, she was a member of the Frio Baptist Church. She was very active in church activities and made many friends there. Wanda worked at Gordon’s Jewelers in Amarillo for many years before they moved to Pampa in 1998. While in Pampa, she worked at several businesses and retired as a secretary from R.E. Waldrip in 2015.
Wanda had a witty and feisty personality, and she was a joy to be around. At times she could be very opinionated and would let you know what was on her mind. She always stayed up to date with all politics. Wanda had a sense of fashion with her clothes and also enjoyed interior decorating.
Wanda kept her circle small with her family. She loved big and it showed by the way she cared for her family. Wanda was a blessing to all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Donnie Sales, Ronnie Sales, and Ann Beard.
Survived by her son, Royce Waldrip and wife Belinda of Pampa; a daughter, Kathy Ely and husband Randy of Little Elm; three grandchildren, Bryan Waldrip and wife Mandy of Pampa, Angela Jackson and husband Gary of Melissa, and Kendra Couch of Melissa; 11 great grandchildren, Reese, Andrew, Caden, Emma, Josh, Geneva, Noah, Natalie, Kayleigh, Aeva, and Sara Jo; two sisters, Janice Cartmill and husband Troy of Lubbock and Libby McGehee and husband Dennis of Idalou; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Interim Hospice for their love and care of Wanda Jo.
