Wilbur was born on October 16, 1937 to Nellie Maye and Wilbur N. Killebrew, Sr. of Canadian. Wilbur grew up in Canadian and on the family ranch in Roberts County. He attended school and graduated from Canadian High School. After high school he enrolled at Texas Tech University, where he graduated with two degrees in Chemical Engineering. He met the first love of his life, Patricia Anne Rahm, whom he married in 1971. They shared many great years before she preceded him in death in 1994. He later found love again when he met Sarah Crim in 1999. In his spare time, he enjoyed travel and researching family history. However, what brought him the most pleasure was spending time at the family ranch where he grew up. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Crim; his son, Charles Killebrew and wife Brandie of Roswell, Georgia; his daughter, Kathryn Killebrew of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three brothers, J.A. Killebrew and wife Kay of Midland, Bob Killebrew and wife Sandye of Monument, Colorado, and Flavius Killebrew and wife Kathy of Canyon; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 PM, Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Wilbur N. and Nellie Killebrew Scholarship Fund at West Texas A&M University, which benefits local high school students. Please contact the WTAMU Foundation at 806-651-2070.
