William Allred, 85, of Pampa and formerly of Lubbock, passed away on January 26, 2022 in Pampa with family by his side.
Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
William was born on May 2, 1936 in Munday to Roe and Norma Allred. William grew up and graduated school in Munday. He married the love of his life, Patricia Denton on April 11, 1958. They later moved to Lubbock where he began his career with the United States Postal Service as a carrier and later was promoted to supervisor. William retired from the USPS after 35 years of service.
William was a talented man who was never idle. He loved working with his hands. He could fix anything. Along with his wife he made beautiful Tiffany lamps. He built motorized cars, toys, and gadgets for his Grandsons. There was nothing William couldn’t fix. William and Patricia enjoyed motorcycle trips to Ouray, Colorado. He will be remembered as a sweet, generous, giving man who had a terrific sense of humor, even during his last days. William will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and by a brother, Wesley Willson Allred.
His survivors include his wife, Patricia Allred of the home; a daughter, Mandy Stark and husband Steve of Pampa; two grandsons, Josh Stark and wife Brittany, and Matthew Stark and wife Jennifer, all of Pampa; a niece, Deborah Church of Abilene; two nephews, Richard Sharpe and wife Kristie of Jacksonville, Florida and Kelly Allred of Kress; and by other extended family.
