William “Bill” Norris, 77, of Pampa, passed away on July 1, 2017 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Kyle Ohsfeldt of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Pampa. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. William Norris was born on February 13, 1940 in Paducah to Leander and Edith Norris. He was raised in the Paducah and Crowell area. As a young man his family moved to Pampa in the 1950’s. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Gloria Beth Rasco in 1962. William worked in the Oil & Gas industry for many years. He was employed for Curtis Well Service for several years and owned & operated his own well service named Norris Well Service before eventually retiring. William will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Survivors include three sons, Grady Norris and wife Hope of Rising Star, and Clifton Norris and Bruce Norris, both of Pampa; a sister, Naida Green and husband Tom of Liberty, Missouri; two grandsons, Chad Norris and wife Kandice of Pampa and Christian Weinkauf of Brownwood; two granddaughters, Heather Ortiz and husband Mario of Grand Junction, Colorado and Brook Weinkauf of Carrizo Springs; five great-grandsons, Tony Norris of Pampa, Elliot Ortiz of Grand Junction, Colorado, Danny Weinkoph, Danny Weinkauf, Stanley Weinkauf, Zachary Weinkauf, all of Brownwood; close friend, Lou Terry of Pampa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded by his wife on June 26, 2004, his parents, Leander and Edith Norris; four sisters; three brothers; and an infant child.Memorials may be made to the VFW, PO Box 2684, Pampa, Texas 79066-2684
