William Deen West, 84, of Austin, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 12, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Stevens, pastor of First United Methodist Church, and John Curry, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.

William (Bill) was born March 27, 1936 in Pampa, Texas to Deen Erwin West and Mary Eurene Harrelson. Bill was a 1954 graduate of Kermit High School, serving as student council president and attending Boys State. He studied architecture at the University of Texas at Austin and was a proud Longhorn. He married Cynthia Duncan on August 9, 1962 in Pampa, Texas. Bill mastered his craft and enjoyed a long career as an offshore welder and pipeline inspector, spending significant time in the North Sea and Gulf of Mexico. After retiring at age seventy-eight, he enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren. Bill will be remembered for his sharp intellect, dry sense of humor, and kind heart.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; two children, Angela Richardson of Cedar Park and Troy West and wife Kammy of Austin; five grandchildren, Jake Richardson, and wife Taylor, Will Richardson, Kristen Richardson, Allison West, and Ryan West; a sister, Donna Dimick of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a brother, Bob West, and wife Darleen of Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family extends its love and appreciation to his caregivers at Longhorn Village and Halcyon Hospice Care.
