Zenaida “Zeny” Salazar, 48, of Pampa, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 in Pampa.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Celestino Trejo, Zeny’s brother, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Zenaida was born on September 5, 1973 in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Celestino and Amalia Trejo. She attended school in Juarez until her family moved to Pampa in 1980. She finished school at Pampa High School. In 1988, Zeny met the love of her of life, Sergio Salazar. The two were married in 1997 in Pampa, where they raised their three children. Zeny worked in home health for a few years, but in 1999, she made the choice to stay home to take care of her husband after he was injured. After Sergio was well, she started work as a CNA, until she retired in 2010. Zeny was an amazing homemaker until the time of her passing. She loved to cook, spend time with her grandkids, and would often help her family in any way that she could. She also loved to draw and color, watch Little House on the Prairie, and listen to music as well.
Zenaida is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Sergio Salazar of the home; son, Sergio Salazar and wife Meganne of Pampa; two daughters, Delissa Zarate of Pampa and Clarissa Velazquez and husband Martin of Pampa; six grandchildren, Greyson Salazar, Alekzander Zarate, Neymar Zarate, Andrei Castillo, Amaya Velazquez, and Analy Velazquez, all of Pampa; seven sisters; three brothers; and numerous other brothers and sisters-in-law.
