Brad Pingel

Brad Pingel

Owner/Funeral Director/Embalmer

Brad Pingel is a Perryton native, graduating from Perryton High School and Amarillo College with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. He has been in the funeral industry since 1995, has been employed with Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors since August of 2000, and became the owner of the funeral home in January of 2016 and July of 2016 purchased the funeral home in Canadian. He and his wife Suzanne have two daughters, Lauren and Jodi, and a granddaughter, Charlie Jo. He is a member of  Briarwood Church and a member of the Pampa Lions Club. He has served as a City Commissioner, for the City of Pampa, from 2005-2011, 2011-2021 as Mayor. Brad is the founder and president of Wheel Times, Inc. Brad and Suzanne also own The Harbor Community Event Center in Pampa and The Fountain of Sunshine Soda Trailer. He enjoys playing golf, crossfitting,  and spending time with his family.

Clint Shelton

Clint Shelton

Managing Funeral Director/Embalmer

Clint Shelton was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. He attended Tascosa High School before his family moved to Kansas, later graduating in Garden City, Kansas. Shortly after high school, his family moved back to Texas. Clint worked in the food & beverage industry for several years before entering funeral service. In 2000, he enrolled at Amarillo College, and graduated in 2003 with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mortuary Science. 

Clint worked in funeral service in the Amarillo area for three years before joining Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in 2005. In 2018, he became the managing director. Upon his promotion, Clint was fortunate to be entered in the Selected Leadership Academy with Selected Independent Funeral Homes, completing the program in 2020. In 2022, he enrolled at the University of Arizona, graduating in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Leadership. 

Clint and his wife, Nikki, have two daughters, Alyssa and Summer, and he and Nikki just welcomed their first grandchild, Wynston in 2023.  He enjoys reading, exercising, and playing billiards. 

Reginald H. Walters

Reginald H. "Reggie" Walters was a 1975 graduate of the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 38 years. He received an associate of arts degree from North Texas State University in Denton. A native of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Reggie was a funeral director in Wyoming for 20 years before purchasing a funeral home in Julesburg, Colorado in 1999. In 2007, he sold the funeral home and moved to Borger, Texas where he worked for Brown Funeral Directors for six years. In his spare time, Reggie enjoys repairing vacuum cleaners and grandfather clocks and going to pawn shops and flea markets. He is a member of the First Baptist Church.

Aubrey DeFever

Aubrey DeFever was raised in Plains, KS and graduated from Southwestern Heights High School in May of 2013. She attended Seward County Community College, where she was a member of the Presidential Scholars’ Program. She graduated with an associate degree in Mortuary Science from Amarillo College in May of 2016. She worked at Robertson Funeral Directors in Clarendon from 2015 to 2019, before moving to Pampa in September of 2019. She is a board member of the Tralee Crisis Center. She is a member of the First Baptist Church. Aubrey is married to Ethan DeFever and has a son, William DeFever. She enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.

Zach Pate

Zach Pate was raised in Dumas, Texas and graduated from Dumas High School in 2003. He then enrolled in UTI, in Houston, and received a certificate of Auto-Diesel Industrial Technology. He worked in the oil fields around Pampa until he got his Degree in Mortuary Science. Zach has four sons, Joshua, Ethen, Greyson, and Elliot. He enjoys hunting and fishing with his sons.

Payton Foster

Funeral Attendant/Harbor Event Center Manager

Payton Foster is a lifetime Pampa resident, graduating from Pampa High School in 2011. She attended and later graduated from Amarillo College in 2013. Payton is married to Seth, and they have two girls, Flair and Fallon. She is also an event coordinator at The Harbor. Payton is an active member of Trinity Fellowship Church, enjoys spending time with her family, and loves to play board games with her friends. 

Paul Chenoweth

Paul Chenoweth, a lifelong resident of Lubbock, is a master automotive and truck technician and service director. After many years in the automotive business, Paul moved to Pampa with his wife, Shannon. Together, they have three children: Justin and Joseph of Lubbock, and Keely Harris and husband Taylor of Pampa. Paul enjoys spending time with his two grandsons, Jack and Graham. He also enjoys hunting, golfing, building engines, and woodworking.

Rylie Johnson

Rylie was raised in Stinnett, Texas and graduated in 2018 from West Texas High School. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she graduated with an Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and Bachelor’s degree of Applied Science in Health Science in 2021. She worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She then graduated with her Master’s of Science degree in Healthcare Information Management and Informatics in 2023. She moved back to the panhandle area to embark on a new journey in life and follow Gods greater purpose for her. She enjoys playing with her dogs Sunnie and Cannon, reading, shopping, working out, and spending time with her family. 

Kety Saturn

Kety Saturn was born in Transylvania and she spent her childhood between Transylvania and Dallas, Texas. She’s certified in cosmetology and sees beauty in anyone and anything. Kety moved to Pampa, Texas in the spring of 2021 and she fell in love with the town and the people. Kety is a proud member of Calvary Baptist Church where she met the kindest people and made new friends. She loves her parents and her dog and her favorite things to do is to spend time with them and create beautiful memories.

Kety loves animals, people and her whole life in general. She is happy and honored to serve the people of Pampa.  Kety loves to swim and to ride horses, she loves to make people happy and give hugs.


Doug Carmichael

Doug Carmichael is a native of Pampa and a 1969 graduate of Pampa High School. He received his BBA and MBA degrees from TCU and is a graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science. He has been a funeral director and embalmer since 1974, retiring in January of 2016. Doug is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pampa Lions Club, and is a board member of Tralee Crisis Center, Clarendon College Pampa Center Foundation, Amarillo College Mortuary Science Department, and Pampa Education Foundation. He also serves as a trustee of the M. K. Brown Foundation. Doug served as a member of the Texas Funeral Service Commission of which he was appointed by Governor Rick Perry. He has served on the boards of Community Day Care Center, Pampa Youth and Community Center, Hospice of the Panhandle, Pampa Chamber of Commerce, and Pampa United Way. In his spare time, he enjoys playing racquetball, golf, and duplicate bridge. His family includes his wife, Sara, his two daughters, Ann Harter and husband Eric of Arlington, VA and Lee Evans and husband, Dr. Will Evans, of Augusta, GA, and his granddaughters, Elizabeth Ann Evans and Katherine Ashby Evans, both of Augusta, and Grace Allison Harter of Arlington.

Andy joined the staff at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors in November of 2018.  He is at the funeral home daily to offer comfort to any family in need.
